AND has always been committed not only to providing the market with a premium product, but also to driving the market forward in the broader public interest. For example, in 2002, company founder Robert Neuberger played a key role in the establishment of dibkom (German Institute for Broadband Communication / Deutsches Institut für Breitbandkommunikation gGmbH).
We are happy to play an active role, for example through our memberships in the SCTE (Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers) and the FTTH Fibre Council Europe. While we have been a member of ANGA Der Breitbandverband / The Broadband Association e. V. for decades, we joined VATM this year.
In the (officially named) Association of Providers in the Digital and Telecommunications Market (Verband der Anbieter im Digital- und Telekommunikationsmarkt VATM) e. V. more than 200 telecommunications and service companies active in the German as well as in the European market join forces to advocate for fair competition under the motto “Competition Unites.” In a formerly monopolized market, this can only be achieved today in a strong community of competitors, given the necessary political and economic framework conditions.
The members’ aspirations are high: “The competing companies provide significant growth impetus for the entire German economy. They are the drivers of a modern gigabit society.” We, too, are more than ready to identify with this vision.
