A component must not only function

Each component of a network must not only be able to be installed correctly in physically, but ideally without exotic special tools or incomprehensible exploded-view drawings, which are unfortunately translated by an algorithm into 48 languages.

No, it must be possible to check the component before placing an order to ensure that it meets the desired specifications. Ideally, this should not require manually comparing performance descriptions and data sheets.

Instead, it should be available as a component in a library within the network planning software and can be easily integrated into the planning via drag-and-drop. The software alerts you if the required parameters are not correct.

Many network operators specify the network components to be used during planning. This is due to framework agreements with manufacturers. There may also be technical constraints that must be met. Or mandatory certifications issued by quality assurance organizations or even regulatory authorities.

If this is not the case, an experienced planner always has their own personal product preferences. They know that only relatively low heights are suitable for this type of multimedia distributor. Or they may simply have had good experiences with the robustness or durability of a particular product.

Mature planning software should always offer the option of predefining certain component specifications so that you don’t have to reinvent the wheel every time. Ideally, this should be done in a library that allows for simple drag-and-drop functionality.

Manufacturers of smart components can also supply their components in digital form right from the start. At least for established programs that already played an important role in the market yesterday. And will probably continue to do so tomorrow.
