AND SystemSolution incorporates a multi-tier architecture with central Oracle™ database. AND SmartServer has been implemented as middleware managing the exchange of data (map and network) between the database and client applications.

AND SmartServer supports long transactions via check-in/check-out mechanism. It provides version administration for network plans and component libraries and is responsible for the allocation of user rights and roles.

AND SmartServer supports metadata allowing new attributes to be generated in the database without further development being required. The new attributes can be added at any stage. On successful verification the data model will be adjusted automatically to the new meta definition. The metadata functionality provides the operator with Inventory Management facilities. Using SQL interrogation the user has access to vital information pertaining to life cycle management, service management, and fault prevention for the component assets throughout the network.
